description: The setting/installation/stage consists of a round canvas painting evoking a traditional woman-art needle work of approximately 5X5 meters (already made, this canvas fits inside a suit case); in the center of this field there is a mound of local dirt where 4 wooden chairs with their backs together forming a square at the center are placed facing each of the cardinal directions: North/South/East/West, the chairs look as emerging from the dirt mound which is as high as their legs. A square piece of wood is nailed on top of the square formed by the chair's backs; this is the stage where I will be standing. I wear a long cotton skirt made of stripes that fall from my waist and extend to the outside of the circle. Audience is invited to write on my skirt with provided markers. I move very slowly as a changing hieroglyph of gestures, my figure is covered by war-like camouflage fabric, blindfolded with the USA flag, I have a scale in my hands, as the universal symbol of justice. It would be good to add to that musical/sound improvisation by any musician or sound artist/poet (acoustic or electronic or both). The performance starts and ends with a walk up/down the podium/stage where I stand for 3 to 4 hours or approximately the length of the exhibition schedule for each day as planned for the Festival.

description: this is the 6th version of the series initiated in argentina in 1997. the project focuses on visual narratives of personal and cultural memory.
